Advancing Gerontological Insights for a Healthier Tomorrow

Welcome, My Dear Visitor!

As a PhD student at Semmelweis University in Hungary, specialising in Gerontology with a focus on the sociology and health promoting decisions and attitudes of the ageing population, I’ve started this website to serve as a comprehensive resource for my research. Here you’ll find insights into the effects of Health Development Offices (EFI Irodák) on the health-related behaviour of the elderly, as well as research on factors influencing the acceptance and refusal of preventive services among older adults.

This platform is not only a place of my findings, but also a platform for collaboration, discussion and sharing of ideas. Whether you are a researcher, a participant, or simply interested in the sociology of ageing, your contributions and feedback are important for us.

Thank you for visiting in my hompage and I look forward to collaborating with you to improve the health and well-being of our ageing population.

  • PhD Scientific Days 2025 (07.07.2025; Budapest)

I am honored to present at the PhD Scientific Days 2025 at Semmelweis University, where I will share our latest research on validating pre- and post-intervention questionnaires designed for elderly health promotion in Újbuda. Our project aims to develop and assess effective measurement tools that can capture the true impact of health interventions targeting the…

  • Spring Wind Conference 2025 (21.06.2025 Budapest)

Between June 20–22, 2025, Semmelweis University will host the „Tavaszi Szél Conference” (Spring Wind Conference). My presentation is titled “Measuring the Uncertainty of Concentration in Healthcare Applications.” In this work, I introduce a modelling approach to quantify uncertainty in targeting tasks, using various search algorithms including Bayesian-adaptive models and examine their efficiency in a simulated…

  • XXIX International PhD – Young Researchers – Conference (25.04.2025 Budapest)

Validation of Health Behavior Measurement Among Older Adults – A Pre-Post Study at the Újbuda Health Development Office This presentation, delivered at the XXIX International PhD – Young Researchers – Conference, introduces a research study led by Péter Domján and colleagues from Semmelweis University. The study examines the health attitudes and behavioral changes among elderly…

  • ORPHEUS 2025 (09.04.2025 – 12.04.2025, Cavtat, Croatia)

I’ll be presenting at the ORPHEUS 2025 Conference: „Adapting Academia: Navigating PhD Programs Amidst World Crises and Changes,” hosted by the University of Zagreb. My presentation, titled „The Role of Health Development Offices in PhD Training and Navigating Crises in Translational Research,” will explore how Health Development Offices (HDOs) play a crucial role in addressing…

  • Bizonytalansági tényezők és az egészségfejlesztési irodák elérhetősége az idős lakosság számára (Uncertainty and the Accessibility of Health Development Offices for the Elderly Population)

The presentation was prepared for the Selye EKÖP Scientific Forum 2025, held on March 20, 2025, at the Selye János Doctoral College for Advanced Studies, Semmelweis University. This research examines the spatial distribution and accessibility of Health Development Offices (HDOs) for elderly populations across Hungary. Using geospatial analysis, we assess the territorial balance of these…

  • A New Bayesian Approach to Increase Measurement Accuracy Using a Precision Entropy Indicator

This study introduces the Imprecision Entropy Indicator (IEI), a novel metric designed to quantify and reduce uncertainty in clinical decision-making. By integrating Shannon entropy and statistical concentration measures, the IEI improves precision in fields such as radiotherapy planning, surgical target delineation, and genetic data analysis. The research applies a Bayesian adaptive learning framework and evaluates…
